With this post I challenge you to be the best you can be today. Whatever you choose to do with your life, be proud of the person you’ve become, be thankful of each day. Happiest people are those who take day by day and are thankful for the little things in life. I wanted to show myself that I can be a role model to myself and change my health regarding Crohn´s disease.
So what changed my life?
Long story short: I have to thank the Head Surgeon for his words in a finnish hospital in 2004 after a major operation regarding IBD: “You will come back for your next operation within two to three years”. At the time, those words motivated me a great deal and made me to make a decision to take a whole new approach for healing and taking care of the one body I have.
Today, I have lived almost symptom-free and drug-free for over a decade since 2004 and without a single surgery. Before then I didn´t have sufficient information about the illness or other choices available besides the use of western medicine, which unfortunately didn’t work for me. That’s why I have been doing a lot of my own research and discovering alternative remedies in order to survive.
Since making the choices and changes in my life, in 2004 at the age of 35, the quality of my life has improved drastically. Knowledge and experience helps enormously. The biggest learning curve has been to get to know my body and learn to listen to what it is saying and what it is teaching me.
